William "Butch" Bovenschen III, 79 years old of Bloomfield, went to live with our Lord Jesus Christ into his everlasting arms on January 23, 2025.

Born March 26, 1945 in Bedford, the son of William Bovenschen II and Sarah (Wagner) Bovenschen Foster.

Butch grew up in Bloomfield and spent most of his life here. Like many young boys, Butch delivered the local daily paper every day. That is where he met and later married his high school sweetheart, Pinky Morgan.

He attended Indiana State University. He then went to work at the Naval Surface Warfare Center where he retired after forty years of service. He also worked for SAIC for ten years.

Besides loving his family, he loved his classic cars, 1949 Ford and a 1959 Edsel. He spent many hours restoring and maintaining them. He would go to many car shows each weekend and made many "car guys" friends. He was an active member of the "Classic Cruisers" car club.

Surviving relatives are his wife, Florence "Pinky" Bovenschen, their children, Butch IV (Tammy) Bovenschen, Kristina (Thomas) Helms, Jack (Kim) Bovenschen and Valarie (Larry) Fink; one sister, Lisa (Dan) Hays; brothers-in-law, Anthony Morgan and Clay Brennaman; eleven grandchildren, Chase Bovenschen, Devin Bovenschen, Kylie Bovenschen, Dane Bovenschen, Amy (Tony) Alberson, Bryce (Cassidy) Helms, Justin (Devan) Bovenschen, Sarah Nail, Chantal (Nate) Mehill, Ally (Nathan) Crews and Jon (Madison) Fink: Nineteen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

William was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm on Friday, January 31, 2025 at Word of Life Fellowship Church in Bloomfield.

A Memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Friday, January 31, 2025 at Word of Life Fellowship Church in Bloomfield, with Pastor Eugene Helms officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Grandview cemetery in Bloomfield.
