Wilbur W. Vandeventer's Obituary
CPL. Wilbur Wells Vandeventer, 88, of Ellettsville, passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at Monroe Hospital after a long battle with cancer.
He was the first born child of Floyd and Ruby Fern (Wells) Vandeventer. He was married to Carolyn (Sands) Vandeventer in July 1960. She preceded him in death in December 1981.
He was a Korean War veteran.
He is survived by two sisters, Erma Weaver of Ellettsville and Carolyn Carmichael of Linton; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by both parents and three brothers, Gerald, Donald and Jerry Vandeventer. Three sisters, Deloris Kristler, Betty Meek and Kay Gilbert.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at the Full Gospel Church in Switz City, with Rev. Sam Hill officiating. Interment will follow in Solsberry cemetery.
Public visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at the church. Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
