Wayne Hubert Hudson, 90, of Solsberry, passed away at 6:12 p.m. on Friday, July 31, 2015 at IU Health Hospice House.
Born February 21, 1925 in Bloomington, he was the son of Virgil and Vivian (Abrams) Hudson.
He was a member and Elder of the Solsberry Christian Church. Wayne served in World War II in Patton's 3rd Army during the Battle of the Bulge. He was an accomplished private pilot and avid radio control airplane builder and pilot. He was an artist and sign artist and neon technician. His life was characterized by an artist's eye, a love for nature and a joy in storytelling and a passion for airplanes and flight.
Surviving relatives include: his children, Ron Hudson of Solsberry and Crystal Hudson of Bozeman, Montana; his grandsons, Bill and Bryan Hudson; and great grandsons, Reed, Isaac and Drew Hudson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Jean Hudson, brothers, Stanley, Lloyd and Bernard Hudson and his parents.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, August 3, 2015 at the Solsberry Christian Church, with Rev. Don Thie officiating. Interment will follow in Solsberry Cemetery.
Public visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Monday at the Solsberry Christian Church. Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Heart Association.
