Today, with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our Loving Mother & Grandmother, Mrs. Viola "Jean" Babneau on Thursday, March 5, 2026 leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion and unwavering strength.
Jean was born on April 11, 1936, to parents Richard and Lillie Uland Bland and was the youngest of five siblings.
She married the Love of her Life, Alfred Babneau (USN, Ret.) in June of 1974. She was a homemaker until his death in 1982, was a nurse's aide at the Greene County General Hospital and a correctional officer at Wabash Valley Correction Facility in Carlisle IN until her retirement in 1997.
Her Life wasn't always easy, but she found God in all things. She always lived in Hope & Joy. All were always welcome to come in and stay awhile enjoying a cup of coffee with her at the dining table or on the porch swing. She taught her children honesty, laughter and a strong love for Life & Family. Her Legacy will live on with her Girls and Grandchildren.
Jean is proceeded in death by her husband, Sons, Stanley Ray Keasling (Terre) and Randy Edward Keasling, Stepsons, Dale & Mike Babneau, two granddaughters, sister, Louise, brothers, Carl Dean Bland, Martin Bland and DeWayne "Peanut" Bland.
She is survived by her children, Joyce Rhodes (Gary), Kathy Litteral (Ed), Brenda Passacantando (Mike), Beverly Dawn White, and Stepchildren, Edna Randall (Greg) and Gary Babneau, many, many Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, & Great-Great Grandchildren, several nieces & nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 P.M. on Sunday March 8, 2026 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield, and 1 P.M. until the hour of service on Monday at the Funeral Home.
Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Jordan Basore officiating. Burial will be private at Pleasant Bethel Cemetery in Worthington.
