Vernon R. Roach 93, of Bloomfield, passed away Monday June 12, 2006 at 10:40 p.m. at Greene County General Hospital.
Born November 28, 1912 in Greene County, he was the son of David Chandler and Mary Frances (Cullison) Roach.
Survivors include: two sons, Nelson E. and his wife Carol J. Roach of Bloomfield and Daniel D. and his wife Sherry Roach of New Castle; nine grandchildren, Steve Baird, Elizabeth Shidlar, Dennis Roach, Larry Baird, Denise Mathes, Diana Rollins, Dana Roach, Gayla Gruetig, and Robert Roach; 20 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Evelyn Lucille Vest Roach in 1931, his 2nd wife, Opal Louise Kinnamen Roach in 1985, and his 3rd wife, Glenda A. (Groves) Ferguson Roach in 2004. He is also preceded in death by one daughter, Velma Ruth (Roach) Baird, six brothers, Clarence, Aden, Ivan, Leslie, Lexie, and Jesse, and five sisters, Verna Roach, Edna Crouch, Violet Wilcoxon, Olive Veatch, and Mary King.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday June 16, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at the Walnut Grove Church of God with Rev's Lloyd Swango and Ralph Roach officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home Bloomfield and 1 hour prior to services Friday at the church.
