Vernon Inman Porter, 88, of Bloomfield, passed away 1:55 a.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at Ketcham Memorial Center in Odon.
Born December 5, 1920 in Martin County, he was the son of Thomas J. and Freda C. (Inman) Porter.
He worked for NSWC Crane, was a farmer, and was a bookkeeper for Greene County for many years.
Surviving relatives include: one brother, Bill Worman of Bloomfield; two aunts, five nieces and nephews, and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and several uncles.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 30, 2009 at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. Erin Raper officiating. Interment will be in Scotland cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and 1 hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home.
