Vernon L. "Andy" Anderson, 88, of Lake City Florida and formerly of Crane, Indiana passed away on June 25, 2012 in Lake City, Florida.
Born February 17, 1924 in Greene County, Indiana the son of Thomas and Beatrice Jane (Dobson) Anderson.
Andy was retired from Crane, he was also an Artist and a Painter. He was an Army veteran of WWII and a member of the Crane VFW and the Bloomfield American Legion.
Surviving relatives include four daughters, Cookie Philman of Lake City, Florida; Mona Lowe of Victoria, Texas; Brenda Smith of Bicknell, Indiana and Terry Ray of Washington, Indiana; one son, Gary Anderson of Lake City, Florida; he has ten grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild. Two brothers, Robert Anderson of Zephyrhills, Florida and Garner Anderson of Bloomfield, Indiana; one sister, Beatrice Bailey of Bloomfield, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Alice M. (Dreblow) Anderson whom he married on December 7, 1957; two sons, Vernon Lee Anderson, Jr. and Jerry Lee Anderson, one brother Vanus Anderson.
There will be on public visitation.
A Graveside service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday July 14, 2012 at Scotland Cemetery with Pastor Jeff Williams officiating. Crane VFW and Bloomfield American Legion will have Military graveside services. Burial will be in Scotland Cemetery.
Donations may be made to the Scotland Cemetery in care of Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield.
