Vera Denise Biery 96, of Bloomfield, passed away Monday, February 10, 2025 at Glenburn Home in Linton.

Born September 28, 1928 in Linton, she was the daughter of Clyde and Ethel (Haywood) Owens, who passed shortly after child birth, and step-mother Wanda (Waggoner) Owens.

Vera was a homemaker. She was a member of the Bloomfield Church of Christ and the Furnace Homemakers Club. Vera graduated from Vincennes Lincoln High School in 1946. She worked in photography studios in Vincennes and Bloomington before raising three sons; later in life she expressed her artistic side learning oil painting, stained glass and quilling.

Surviving relatives include: three sons, Kent Biery of Bloomington, Randall Biery (Rebecca) of Louisville, Kentucky and Brian Biery of Crawford County, Indiana; two sisters, Greta Fiorentin and Nedra Culley both of Indianapolis; one brother, Dennis Owens (Sherri) of Cincinnati, Ohio; her caregiver and special friend, Sherry Benton; thirteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles G. Biery on July 24, 2013, siblings, Glen Owens and Don Owens and her parents.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Monday, February 17, 2025 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Interment will follow in Grandview cemetery in Bloomfield.

Public visitation will be held from 2 to 6 pm on Sunday and 1 hour prior to services on Monday at the funeral home.

The family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Bloomfield Church of Christ or the Bloomfield Library.
