Velma (Curry) Britton, 86, of Solsberry, passed away at 10:15 A.M. on Thursday April 9, 2015.

Born December 27, 1928 in Pike County, Indiana, she was the daughter of Edgar and Dora (Barrett) Curry.

Velma was a homemaker and had worked at RCA, she attended the Solsberry Christian Church. She loved her family, sewing and helping others.

Surviving relatives include her daughters, Dixie Britton of Bloomington and Charlene Stevens of Indianapolis, she has seven grandchildren; Timothy Britton, Valerie Byers, Jason Britton, Heather Douglas, Holly Roberts, Casey Roell and Jay Stevens. Fourteen great grandchildren, Odetta, Jerrod, Devin, Kyle, Autumn, Audrey, Hunter, Rodney, Kaden, CJ, Myah, Emma, Rilee and Abram, two great great grandchildren, Ava and Bentley, she has one brother, Dorman Curry of Englewood, Florida.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Britton on December 15, 2009, one son, Paul Edgar Britton in 2005 and her parents.

Friends may call from 12 P.M. on Monday until the hour of service at the Solsberry Christian Church.

Services will be held at 2:30 P.M. at the Solsberry Christian Church with Dr. Bob Doane officiating. Burial will follow at Solsberry Cemetery.
