Teddy Levon York, 70, of Lyons, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at his residence.

Born September 17, 1950 in Linton, he was the son of, Dexter "Shorty" and Ethel Marion (Lehman) York. He married Diane Heidenreich on October 16, 1971.

Teddy worked for York Brothers Excavating. He started farming with his aunt and Uncle Madeline and Junior Mullis, eventually taking over the family farm where he worked until his passing.

He was a volunteer fireman for many years as chief at Lyons Fire Department. He volunteered for the Greene County 4-H fair most of his adult life and served on the 4-H council. He was trustee of the Lyons United Methodist Church.

He served on several boards including, White River Co-Op, Greene County Drainage and F.S.A. board of directors. One of his favorite pastimes was keeping the clock for the boys and girls WRV basketball teams which he did for many years.

Surviving relatives include: two sons, Tim York (Angie) and Matthew York (Whitney); grandchildren, Tyler York (Adrian), Dalton York (Natalie) and Dexter Moses York; his sisters, Janice Pilant (Lee) and Vivian Butcher (Mark); and his faithful spoiled companion, Shadow.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Diane Beth (Heidenreich) York on March 13, 2017 and his parents.

Private Funeral Services will be conducted at Lyons United Methodist Church, with Rev. Rose Sparks and Rev. Kate Biggs officiating. Interment will follow in Prairie Chapel cemetery in rural Lyons.

Public visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Saturday at Jenkins Funeral Home in Lyons and from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday at the church. Due to State Covid-19 restrictions, only 50 people will be allowed in the building at any one time and Masks will be required. The family also asks that the public be respectful to their wish for private services on Sunday and please exit the building by 2:00 p.m. The public is welcome at the graveside service.

In lieu of flowers and gifts, the family asks that like Teddy did, just help others when you can and expect nothing in return. God Bless you all that touched Dad's life.
