Obituary

Shirley Ann (Gardner) Blackmore 65, of Bloomfield, passed away at 1:15 p.m. Monday, December 14, 2009 at her home.
Born October 7, 1944 in Linton to James and Margaret (Gallian) Gardner. She was preceded in death by both parents and a brother Michael.
She is survived by her husband Larry Blackmore, three children, James Blackmore (Jada Beck), Sarah Astafan (Jeff) and John Blackmore (Toni), two sisters, Reva Gallian of Bloomington and Donna Cheney (Jerry) of Williams, Indiana. She has nine grandchildren, Jacob and Alisha Blackmore, Rick Tally, Danielle Blackmore, Ross Tally, Scotland McKinzie, Dawson Blackmore, Justin Fox and Josie Astafan. She is also survived by a brother in law, Gary Blackmore and several aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was a member of the American Legion Post #450 Auxiliary, VFW Post # 604 Auxiliary and the Scotland United Methodist Church. She was retired as an investigator for Adult Protective Services.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:30 p.m. Friday, December 18, 2009 at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield, with Rev. Harold Godsey officiating. Interment will be in Scotland cemetery. Solsberry American Legion Post #450 Auxiliary services will be conducted prior to the funeral service Friday.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of services Friday at the funeral home.
The family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, the IU Simon Cancer Research Center, or the Solsberry American Legion Post #450 in care of Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home.
