Sharon Lucille Edwards, 76, was a woman with an exceptional ability to connect with people in a genuinely caring way with kindness, humor and compassion. She had a God-given gift to lighten hearts and spread joy to whomever she encountered, family, friends and strangers alike. She had an easy, natural ability to love and be loved. She was laughter. She was light. She was love. She was the life of the party. She was intelligence, wisdom and wit. She was strength and perseverance. She was a blessing in this world as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend.

Sharon readily expressed her love for the Lord and demonstrated it every day in the way she lived her life. She led by example. She adored her family and they adored and cherished her. She was loved beyond measure. She was a free, gentle, kind spirit who will be deeply missed. Her family is comforted in the knowledge she is no longer constrained by any illness, but has a new, healthy, perfect body in Heaven which she entered on April 1, 2026.

Sharon was born on August 4, 1949 in Bloomington, Indiana to Edna Lucille (Burge) Murphy and Richard Murphy who preceded her in death, as did her beloved son, Benjamin Edwards, beautiful grandson, Jack Edwards and brother, Michael Murphy. She is survived by her loving husband, Duayne Edwards, daughter and son-in-law, Shannon and David Dean, son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Melinda Edwards, seven grandchildren, Adam, Ethan, Lilli (Briar), Lexi (Billy), Sophi, Asa and Burr, four great-grandchildren, Bo, Zetta, Georgia and Lucy, and sister, Cecelia Smith, as well as, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A private graveside service will be held and a Celebration of Life will be planned for a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Owensburg Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 120, Springville, IN 47462.
