Ruth B. Field, 93, of Plainfield, formerly of Bloomfield, passed away at 10:25 p.m. Saturday, November 3, 2012 at Hendricks Regional Health in Danville.
Born July 4, 1919 in Bloomfield, she was the daughter of Emery and Clovie M. (Flake) Cook.
She was a dietitian for the Bloomfield Nursing home and attended Pleasant Ridge Church.
Surviving relatives include: one daughter, Mildred Lorene Deem (William) of Avon; one son, Robert E. Groomer (Madonna) of Plainfield; two brothers, Charles Cook of Bloomfield and Jack Cook of Florida; grandchildren, Ann E. Moore and Robin A. Groomer; great grandchildren, Toby Deem, Elleanor Moore, Helena Moore, Dominic R. Groomer, Alena Groomer and Alana Groomer; and one great, great, grandchild, Jaiden Ruthanne Deem.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Groomer, her second husband, Ralph B. Field, a grandson, Mark C. Deem, brothers, Wilburn Cook, Max Cook, Chuck Cook, Herschel Cook, Pete Cook, Joe Cook and Jim Cook, sisters, Mary Owens, Dorothy Sexton and Patsy Stewart and her parents.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 9, 2012 at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield, with Rev. Darryl Bogatay officiating. Interment will follow in Grandview cemetery in Bloomfield.
Public visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday and 1 hour prior to services on Friday.
