Robert L Clark, 78, of Bloomfield, passed peacefully surrounded by loving family on Sunday, September 21st at IU Health Bloomington Hospital. Bob was the eldest son of Robert L. and Mary E. Clark.
Bob was well-liked, soft hearted and had the quick-witted Clark humor. He had many friends and easily made new ones wherever he went. Bob was a master machinist at Crane Army Ammunition Activity until he retired. He later supported the Navy with SAIC. He was an avid bowler and golfer. He was a great supporter of IU athletics and the LA Dodgers baseball. His greatest love was his family with him being a very proud father and grandfather.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Nathan Ryan Clark, and a sister, Janice Sue Gelhaus.
Bob is survived by a son, Robert Wayne Clark, a granddaughter, Madeline Belle Clark, sisters, Mary Monroe, Jennifer (Scot) Leibacher, brothers, Richard Clark, Roger (Darcy) Clark, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Interment will follow in Antioch cemetery in rural Bloomfield. There will be a gathering at the Bloomfield American Legion Post 196 immediately following graveside services.
Public visitation will be held from 4 to 8 pm on Friday and 1 hour prior to services on Saturday at the funeral home. The family requests that in memory of Bob visitors to the viewing and the funeral wear items supporting their favorite sports team and please come with a memory to share.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Greene County Humane Society or to the charity of the donor's choice.
