Richard D. Sparks, 69, of Bloomfield passed away at his residence.

Born February 28, 1954 in Indianapolis, Indiana the son of Carl E. H. and Maddie Louise Sparks.

Richard was a retired Civil Service employee from NSA Crane and a U.S. Army veteran. His hobbies included working on vehicles, spending time with family and doting on his grandchildren.

Surviving relatives include son Richard Sparks Jr., daughter-in-law Jeri Kay Sparks, grandson Aiden; daughter Laura Kerns, son-in-law Carl Kerns Sr., grandsons Carl Jr. and Luke; siblings and extended family.

Richard was preceded in death by his wife Suzanne Sparks on June 11, 2016 and his parents.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 P.M. on Tuesday June 13, 2023 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield, IN.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday June 14, 2023 at Carmichael Cemetery.

The family asks that any memorial donations be made to IU Health Olcott Center (cancer care) in Richard's name.
