Richard L. Byers, 79, of Bloomfield passed away Saturday March 18, 2023 at IU Health Bloomington Hospital.
Born May 29, 1943 in Linton, Indiana the son of Franklin L. and Mary Alice (Cooper) Byers.
Richard had worked for JL Wilson Construction and Branstetter's Heating and Cooling, he was a member of the Antioch Christian Church and was a member of the Bass Masters Club.
Surviving relatives include his wife Joyce, they were married on June 1, 1962; two sons, Scott (Carol) Byers, Ty (Courtney) Byers, his grandchildren, Sarah (Danny) Riggins, Lisa (Lynn) Howard, Amy (Joe) Jerrell, Chelsey (Travis) Bowlen, Jessica Byers, Kaylea (Trayson Westray) Byers, Cody Byers, Dylan Byers; great grandchildren, Cole Riggins, JD Riggins, Ethan Riggins, Blaine Vandeventer, Allie Jerrell, Riley Jerrell, Nora Bowlen, Liam Bowlen, Ronin Byers and Jeryn Westray.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held from 10 A.M. on Tuesday until the hour of service at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield.
Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday with Rev. Jack Tolbert officiating. Burial will follow at Antioch Cemetery in Bloomfield.
The family wishes any memorial donations be made to the Antioch Christian Church in Richard's name.
