Richard "Martin" Burcham, 88, peacefully went to his heavenly home on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at Glenburn Home in Linton, Indiana.

Martin was born on September 29, 1930 to Daniel Wayne and Algie Berniece (Acton) Burcham and was a life-long resident of Greene County. On November 12, 1949 he married Wilma Mae Strauser and established the home they lived in on Burcham Lane in Bloomfield until Wilma was called home in 1988. Martin lived there the rest of his life.

Martin is survived by his children Jean Ann Pittman, Cathy Diane Idle, David Martin (Deb) Burcham and Susan Elaine (Jeff) Riggs, grandchildren Michael Jared (Christina) Burcham, Melissa Erin (Jeff) Tacheny, Megan Ann Burcham, Thomas (Beth) Idle, Rebecca Suzanne Riggs and nine great grandchildren; his siblings, Mary Fuller, Martha Veatch, Elizabeth Henderson and Joe Burcham.

Martin is preceded in death by his wife Wilma Mae, son-in-law Larry Idle, grandsons Jeromy Pittman and Taylor Austin Idle, one brother, Walter Wayne Burcham and his parents.

Martin was a member of the Walnut Grove Church of God where he led his family to service every Sunday until his later years. Upon graduation from Bloomfield High School, Martin worked for Combs Feed Mill, Boruff Construction and Holland Dairy, where he retired in 1990. An active retirement encompassed cattle farming, gardening and following Bloomfield High School sports and St. Louis Cardinals baseball. Martin cherished his family and friends from the Park community that lasted throughout his life. A kinder friend, helpful worker or understanding father could not be found. He will be greatly missed.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 P.M. on Thursday at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield and 1 P.M. Friday until the hour of service at the Walnut Grove Church of God.

Services will be held on Friday at 2:00 P.M. at the Walnut Grove Church of God with Rev. Erin Raper officiating. Burial will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery.
