Rena F. Sipes, 85, of Nicholasville, Kentucky; formerly of Newberry passed away Wednesday May 8, 2019 at her residence.

Born September 9, 1933 in Dekalb County, Illinois the daughter of Omar W. and Vivian (Carpenter) Barker.

Rena was a homemaker and a member of the Newberry Eastern Star.

Surviving relatives include her five children, Stella Abrams, Beverly Owens, Dianne Huestis, Edward Sipes and Eric Sipes, five grandchildren, Matt Abrams, Nathan Huestis, Nick Huestis, David Owens, Claire Sipes and Nikki, Jaden and Ciera Abrams; she has two great grandchildren, one brother, Wallace Barker and one sister, Linda Richardson.

Rena was preceded in death by her husband Wilber Dale "Buster" Sipes on May 16, 2013, one brother John Barker and a grandson, Michael Joe Abrams.

Friends may call from Noon on Sunday until the hour of service at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield.

Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Linda and Mark Richardson officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Nebo Cemetery in Newberry.

The family wishes any donations be made to the Mt. Nebo Cemetery (683 W. Scotland-Newberry Road, Newberry, Indiana 47449) in Rena's name.
