Reba Mina (Heaton) Street, 87, entered into eternal peace on Monday, September 21, 2015, at the Lyons Health and Living Center.
Reba was born on October 28, 1927, the daughter of the late Brantley (Buck) and Louise (Oliphant) Heaton. She graduated from Switz City Central High School with the class of 1945. She also attended Indiana State University where she earned both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in elementary education. She married the late Charles N. Street in August of 1945 and together they dedicated their lives to bettering the lives of children through education.
Until her retirement, Reba taught first grade at Bloomfield Elementary School. She will be especially remembered for her smile, compassion and the tenaciousness that allowed her the ability to work with students to become the best they could be. Reba loved playing golf and enjoying the activities in which Amanda and Mallory were involved. She was a very kind and gentle soul; she had a loving and generous heart, and was always giving to others.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles; her son, Charles Lee; her father, mother, in-laws and several nieces and nephews.
She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her; daughter, Susan Sparks Pardue (Bill); granddaughters, Amanda Littlejohn (Charlie), and Mallory Sparks; beloved great-grandchildren, Brantley, Adyson and Creyton Littlejohn; sister, Rosie Hasler, sister-in-law, Pat Yoho (Lavon) and several nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at Jenkins Funeral Home, in Bloomfield and one hour prior to services Thursday at the Church. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, September 24, 2015 at the First Christian Church in Bloomfield, beginning at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bloomfield-Eastern Public Library, located at 125 South Franklin, Bloomfield, IN 47424.
