Ray Alan Longest, 68, of Lyons, passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2023 at the Gibson Family Center in Terre Haute.

Born May 1, 1955 in Washington D.C., he was the son of Maurice and Martha (Freeland) Longest.

He was a farmer.

Surviving relatives include: one daughter, Pamela Clayton of Bloomfield; stepson, Jason Chesnut of Lyons; his grandchildren, Bailee Chesnut, Micah Chesnut, Desiree Levato and Samantha Clayton; two great grandchildren, Ayva Major and Zayne Combs; his sisters, Judy Bough, Janet Harper and Joyce Longest; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruthie Jean Longest on April 3, 2022, three brothers, Guy, David and Steve Longest and his parents.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at Prairie Chapel Cemetery in rural Lyons, with Chris Gehring officiating.

Jenkins Funeral Home in Lyons is in charge of arrangements.
