Obituary

Ray L. Guthrie, 85, of Vincennes, formerly of Newberry, passed away Sunday, September 3, 2006 at 2:30 a.m. at the Lodge of the Wabash in Vincennes.
Born December 19, 1920 in Danville, Illinois, he was the son of Doyle Fayne and Nora (Petit) Guthrie.
Ray was a army air core veteran serving in WWII and a member of the Newberry Methodist Church and the VFW.
Survivors include: two daughters, Lana S. Graf of Switz City and Teresa A. Guthrie of Bloomington; one son, Michael R. Guthrie of Bloomington; one grandson, Jacob A. Graf of Bloomfield; three grandchildren, Taylor A., Felicity D., and Baylin A. Graf; one sister, Helen Hawkins of Draseo, Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years Ima Jean Guthrie in 1994, 0ne grandson, Samuel G. Graf, 3 brothers, Thurston, Donald, and John Guthrie, twosisters, Raye Moomaw and Mary Valentine, and his parents.
There wil be no public visitation, graveside services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday September 9, 2006 at Prairie Chapel Cemetery where military honors will be presented.
