Phyllis Ann Wright 92, of Bloomfield, passed away at 11:05 p.m. Monday, May 13, 2013 at IU Health Hospice House in Bloomington.
Born February 15, 1921 in Marion, Illinois to Dennis K. and Margaret (Jones) Brandon. She later married Odell Wright Jr. on April 5, 1942 and went on to graduate from Indiana University.
She was employed as a telephone operator, the Bloomfield Librarian, Special Education Co Op, and the Greene County Probation Officer. She was a member of Tri Kappa, Friends of the Library and the Bloomfield First Christian Church for 82 years.
Surviving relatives include: one son, Dennis O. Wright of Indianapolis; two daughters, Laura Heaton of Shelbyville and Margaret Ellen Veatch of Bloomfield; one brother, Richard Brandon of Scottsdale, Arizona; seven grandchildren and eighteen great, grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Odell Wright Jr. in 1966, a brother, John Brandon, one sister, Mary Alice Whyte and her parents.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 17, 2013 at the Bloomfield First Christian Church. Interment will follow in Grandview cemetery in Bloomfield.
Public visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield and 1 hour prior to services Friday at the Bloomfield First Christian Church.
The family asks that all memorial contributions be made to IU Health Bloomington Hospice.
