Phyllis Maxine Tungate 94, of Elnora, passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at Daviess Community Hospital in Washington.
Born August 23, 1930 in Greene County, she was the daughter of Everett and Gertrude (Vandeventer) Bingham.
She was a farm girl and also worked at NSWC Crane. She was a member of Elnora Christian Church.
Surviving relatives include: one son, Randall Tungate of Evansville; three grandchildren, Melissa Webster (Marty) of Odon, Brandi Conder (Joe) of Hatfield and Robby Tungate of Hatfield; five great grandchildren, Chase Webster, Austin Webster, Aaron Poirot, Nathan Blosl (Lauren) and Ellah Dawn Blosl; and one great, great grandchild on the way; two stepsons, Bobby (Lesley) Boardman of Odon and Ricky Boardman (Karen) of Enid, Oklahoma; one brother, Jerry Bingham (Paula); and several nieces and nephews and close friends.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Tungate in 1999, her second husband, Robert Boardman, siblings, Lois Shelton, Eddie Bingham, Wilbert "Bud" Bingham, Helen Little, Desmonda Bowersock and Thelma Shute, two infant children, Dennis Tungate and Patricia Lee Tungate.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield, with Rev. Jack Tolbert officiating. Interment will follow in Grandview cemetery in Bloomfield.
Public visitation will be held from 4 to 8 pm of Friday and one hour prior to services on Saturday at the funeral home.
The family asks that all memorial contributions be made to Grandview cemetery or Elnora Christian Church.
