Peggy Sue White, 82, of Bloomfield, passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2025 at IU Health Hospice House in Bloomington surrounded by her family.
Born April 9, 1942 in Bloomfield, she was the daughter of William M. and Frances Lorene (Hudson) Bland.
Peggy was a nurse's aide for the Bloomfield Nursing Home and at Greene County General Hospital and later did home health care.
Peggy was a member of the Bethany Christian Church, the Red Hat Society where she served as Queen Mother, Order of Eastern Star, Greene County Historical Society and was a published author. She loved her flowers. She also had the love for music which she shared with her children.
Surviving relatives include: one son, Dennis White; her daughter, Sondra Sue Usrey; her grandchildren, Ivan L. Usrey (Zephrell) and Logan J. Usrey; great grandchildren, Lila Ann Usrey, Ava Lee Usrey and Evelyn Grace Usrey and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Joel Hampton White, her parents, and siblings, Ronald Bland, Robert Reed, Sharon Bedwell, Latona Gay Houston, Carol Neild and Sandra Westbrook.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield, with Brother Richard Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in Prairie Chapel Cemetery in Lyons.
Public visitation will be held from 4 to 8 pm on Tuesday and 1 hour prior to services on Wednesday at the funeral home.
The family asks that all memorial contributions be made to Bethany Christian Church.
