Otis Dale Vandeventer, 91, of Shelbyville, formerly of Bloomfield, passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at Compass Park Indiana Masonic Home in Franklin.

Born January 27, 1934 in Bloomfield, he was the son of Lloyd Curtis and Carrie Gertrude (VanSlyke) Vandeventer.

He worked for GE and served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of the Sanders Pentecostal Church in Bloomington.

Surviving relatives include: his wife, Ora Olive (Helms) Vandeventer whom he married on May 20, 1955; two daughters, Marietta Cunningham and Marcenna Vandeventer; siblings, Clarence Willard Vandeventer, Jack Dean Vandeventer, Mike Russell Vandeventer, Ike Thomas Vandeventer and Reba Ann Randall; his grandchildren, Chris Cunningham and Mick Cunningham; five great grandchildren, Julia, Krista, Nathan, Olive and Collin Cunningham; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Laura Helms and infant brother, Lloyd Vandeventer and his parents.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield, with Rev. Joe Nelson officiating. Interment will follow in Tulip Cemetery in rural Bloomfield.

Public visitation will be held from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Tuesday at the funeral Home.
