Morris Eugene "Gene" Roberts 83, of Bloomington, passed away Sunday January 8, 2006 at 9:15 p.m. at Bloomington Hospital.
Born April 28, 1922 in Owensburg, he was the son of Thomas Roy and Lucille (McDowell) Roberts.
He was a member of the Owensburg Baptist Church. 32nd degree Mason in the Solsberry masonic Lodge. He also served as President for Eastern Heights Utilities for 35 years. He was in industrial management at NWSC Crane from where he retired.
Survivors include: his wife, Sharon Roberts of Owensburg; three sons, Michael J. "Mick" Roberts of Loveland, Colorado, Douglas A. "Andy" Roberts of Bloomfield, and David A. Roberts of Owensburg; one daughter, Becky Egenolf of Worthington; nine grandchildren and 3 great, grandchildren.
He was prceded in death by his 1st Wife Ruth W. Roberts on July 25, 2003 and his parents.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday January 13, 2006 at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. Merla Craig and Rev. Jim Olinger officiating. Burial will be in Owensburg cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday and 1 hour prior to services Friday at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield.
