Mikayla Joann Mumma of Springville, Indiana passed away peacefully on Wednesday August 30, 2023, at IU Health Bloomington Hospital with her mother and sister by her side. Mikayla was 30 years old and was born in Bedford, Indiana on April 22, 1993, the daughter of Andrew and Tammy Loya (Mumma).

She was the most joyful person to be around and was always smiling even though she fought illness throughout most of her life. She loved to dance and be the center of attention, was an avid karaoke singer (even though she couldn't carry a tune), loved doing arts and crafts and was a member of the Kentucky Ridge Church.

Mikayla was proceeded in death by her great-grandmother, Helen Starling. Her grandfathers John Carter, Jim McGlocklin, and Andi Loya, her grandmother Karen Mumma (Cookie), and Aunt Jennifer Krebbs.
She is survived by her mother and father, Tammy Mumma and Andrew Loya, her adoptive father Jim Mumma, fiancé Jessie Bordeleau, and sisters, Amber (Aaron) Norris and Kelsey Loya. She also leaves her grandmothers, Betty (Joann) McGlocklin, Teresa Wilkerson, Holly Loya, and Kathy Mumma. Grandfathers Dean Mumma and Paul Wilkerson, her uncles John (Letica) Carter, Jonathan Loya, Nathan Loya, Rick (Lisa) Mumma, and aunts Serina Hutchison, Helen Lindsey, Christina Sawyer, and Kate (Rich) Manoogian. Mikayla also leaves behind several cousins and her Great-Uncle David Starling and Great-Aunt Vina Swango, who she shared special bonds with.

Mikayla was also a beloved aunt to Clayton Norris, Landon Norris, Gracelynn Johnson, Brooklyn Norris, Addison (Addi) Johnson, Branson Norris, and Remington (Remi) Norris.

Mikayla was such a light to so many and knew nothing but love for all. We know this is not the end, and we will meet again on a beach somewhere in Heaven.

Visitation will be held on Saturday September 2, from 11 A.M. until 2 P.M. at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield.

Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. Erin Raper officiating. Burial will follow at Owensburg Cemetery.
