Michael Robert Terrell, 67, of Switz City, died October 28, 2015 at Seton Specialty Hospital in Indianapolis.

Mr. Terrell was born December 14, 1947 to Janette Stantz Terrell and Robert Max Terrell.

Mike was raised in Switz City and graduated from Central High School in 1965. He excelled in baseball and continued to play at Indiana Central where he earned his Bachelors of Education in 1969. Mike began his teaching career at L&M High School and later retired from White River Valley in 2002. During this time, he found his true calling as a coach. Although Mike coached several sports, his passion was coaching volleyball. Mr. Terrell touched many lives through education and coaching and instilled core values in many. As an adult, Mike enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards and spending time with his family and freinds.

He is survived by his son Samuel (Daria) Terrell of Seymour, his daughter Jennifer Terrell of Darlington, grandchildren Jaron, Preston and Kailyn Terrell and nephews Jay Terrell and Cory Terrell.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents Max and Janette and his brother Danny Terrell.

In lieu of flowers Mike requested that donations be made to his grandchildren's education fund in c/o Jennifer Terrell or S.A.F.E. Animal Rescue Inc. at 189 W Vincennes Street, Linton, IN 47441.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 P.M. on Wednesday November 4, 2015 and 1 P.M. Thursday until the hour of service at Jenkins Funeral Home in Lyons.

Memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday at Jenkins Funeral Home in Lyons with Chris Gehring officiating. Burial will be at Switz City Cemetery.
