Michael Dean Griffith, 60, of Bloomington, passed away at 2:58 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at IU Health Martinsville.
Born February 24, 1953 in Linton, he was the son of Willis Dean and Betty Lou (Horn) Griffith.
He retired from Weddle Brothers Construction company as a bridge superintendent and also worked for Monroe County Planning and Zoning. He was a member of the Bloomfield United Methodist Church, Sons of the American Legion Post #18 and the Bloomington VFW Men's Auxiliary.
Surviving relatives include: his wife, Judith Ann (Byers) Griffith whom he married September 20, 1974; his mother, Betty Lou Griffith of Bloomington; two brothers, Patrick Griffith of Bloomfield and Lance Griffith of Greencastle; one niece, one nephew, two great nephews and one great niece.
He was preceded in death by his father, Willis Dean Griffith on January 31, 2013 and several aunts and uncles.
Graveside services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 12, 2013 at Grandview cemetery in Bloomfield.
Public visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield.
The family asks that all memorial contributions be made to the Greene County Humane Society or the Monroe County Humane Society.
