Mary Alice Davis, 79, of Solsberry passed away on Friday April 25, 2025 at the IU Health Hospice House in Bloomington.

Born November 12, 1945, in Linton, Indiana the daughter of Curtis and Wilma Maxine (Jones) Groomer.

Mary Alice had worked at RCA before purchasing the Shawnee Trail Café in Bloomfield with her sisters and mother, which they ran from 1987-1994. Patrons traveled many miles to congregate over the Groomer girl's famous home-style cooking. She faithfully attended Pleasant Ridge Church, where her family has congregated for generations.

Surviving relatives include her husband Pete Davis, one son, J.R. (Sherri) Davis, her grandchildren, Jarrad (Rachael) James, Olivia (Garrett) Sarchet, Peyton Davis, her great grandchildren, Lou James, Layla James, Tucker Sarchet, Max Sarchet, she has two sisters, Carol (Tracy) Ferguson, Nancie Lloyd and her nieces and nephews, Roger Arthur, Lisa Abel, Dallas Parsley, Jackie Parsley, Stacy Skomp, Kim Feasel, Scott Davis, Lori Dammeyer, Seth and Ben Burch.

Mary Alice and Pete's love story began when Pete entered an Eastern Greene basketball game searching for the prettiest woman in attendance to marry. He found her. They dated for two years before marrying and were only a few months away from celebrating their 60th Anniversary.

Mary Alice was easy to love and will be missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 P.M. on Tuesday and 11 A.M. Wednesday until the hour of service at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield.

Services will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Wednesday at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Brother Tom Medina officiating. Burial will follow at Ridgeport Cemetery.

The family asks that memorial donations in Mary Alice's name be given to Ridgeport Cemetery.
