Mary Ann (McElroy) Floyd, 91, of Bloomington, IN died Saturday, April 15, 2017, at Stonecroft Health Campus.

Born on July 27, 1925, in Scotland, IN, she was the daughter of Edward O. & Laura (Lester) McElroy.

Mary Ann was a 1943 graduate of Scotland High School. she then moved to Bloomington, IN to attend business college and was employed at the Indiana University purchasing Dept.for 15 years after that.

She married Charles Floyd in 1951, and they were married for 56 years before his passing in 2007. In 1976, they began working as associates with AFLAC, selling insurance and servicing claims. They were also co-owners of Floyd Apartments for over 40 years.

Mary Ann was a member of First Christian Church, Bloomfield, IN. She currently attended Stanford Baptist Church where she had also been a member for many years.
Survivors include her two daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Doug Mowery of Bloomfield, IN and Charlene and Scott Mitchell of Bloomington, IN; two grandchildren, Levi and Aricka Mitchell of Bloomington, IN; two sisters, Martha Ramsey of Indianapolis, IN, and Lola Mowery of Bloomfield, IN, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Charles; three sisters, Bertha Mitchell, Ethel Toon, and Lula Allen; and two brothers, Herbert McElroy and Harold McElroy.

Mary Ann's family would like to thank all of her many personal caregivers, the nurses and aides at Meadowood and Stonecroft, and Dr. Schmalz and his staff for all of their wonderful care over the last 4 years.
Friends may call from 4-8 pm on Tuesday and 1 hour prior to services on Wednesday at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. Mark Peterson officiating. Burial will follow at Flater Cemetery in Bloomfield.

The Family asks that all memorial contributions be made to the Stanford Baptist Church or the Bloomfield First Christian Church.
