Martha New 91, of Solsberry, passed away at 12:37 a.m. Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at Monroe Hospital in Bloomington.

Born November 1, 1923 in Greene County, she was the daughter of Earl and Ona (Crockett) Britton.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Newark Pentecostal Church.

Surviving relatives include: three sons, Raymond New of Solsberry, Lester New of Paoli and Roger New of Ellettsville; two daughters, Geneva Edwards of Solsberry and Evelyn Templer of Houston, Texas; eleven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and three great, great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert R. New on February 26, 1992, one son, Stephen Douglas New in 1971, three brothers, three sisters and her parents.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 27, 2015 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield, with Rev. Raymond New officiating. Interment will follow in Grandview cemetery in Bloomfield.

Public visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Saturday and 1 hour prior to services Sunday at the funeral home.

The family asks that all memorial contributions be made to the Newark Pentecostal Church.
