Marjorie Ann Hardisty, age 95, of Greenfield, Indiana passed away on January 2, 2025, at home with family and friends. She was born in Bloomington, Indiana, on August 19, 1929, to James Everett and Wanda Iva (Crane) Weaver. She graduated in 1948 from Solsberry High School.

She married Laurel Malcolm Hardisty on May 26, 1948, in Linton, Indiana. They were a very dedicated and loving farm couple and were married for 73 years until his death.

Marjorie is survived by daughters, Sue Ann Nigh (Stephen) and Jane Ellen Hardisty and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents (Everett and Wanda Weaver), brother (Donald William Weaver), and grandson (Brett Andrew Nigh).

Marjorie loved to play the piano and learned to play at the age of 4. She played the piano for church services, weddings, funerals, anniversary parties, and accompanied high school students at solo band competitions. In 2001, she lost her hearing due to autoimmune issues and wasn't able to continue playing the piano.

Throughout her life, she was involved in church, community, and Home Economics groups. She was an excellent seamstress and crocheter. For over 30 years she would crochet Christmas ornaments to include with Christmas cards.

She loved visiting with family and friends on the front porch of the log cabin the family built near Solsberry, Indiana. However, the proudest thing to her was being the wife of a successful farmer.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Erlewein Mortuary and Crematory, 1484 West U.S. Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 10, 2025, at 1:00 pm at Solsberry Community Church, 10051 E Wilkerson Dr, Solsberry, IN 47459, with one hour of viewing prior to the service. Pastors Michael Smith and Mathew Whitacre will be officiating. Burial will follow at Solsberry Cemetery.
