Lula Mae Wilson

Lula Mae Wilson, 80, of Bloomfield passed away at 11:40 A.M. at her residence surrounded by her family and friends, Lula Mae lost her lengthy battle with cancer. Lula Mae was a devoted, loving and caring Wife, Mother, Nana, Sister, Aunt and Friend. She always put family first. She raised her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; all whom adorned her stern but loving ways. Her love for the old gospel tunes could be heard throughout the house, as she rocked the babies to sleep singing the "Old Rugged Cross, How Great Thou Art", and "One Day at A Time". As an active member of the First Christian Church, she served on the foods committee and enjoyed singing for the congregation. Lula Mae was a fifty four year member of Eastern Star and served as Worthy Matron, Grand Representative to Michigan and District # 7 Deputy, a position that she held until her death. Survivors include herr husband of 60 years Walter; three sons Michael and wife Pat Wilson; Mark Wilson all of Bloomfield; Charles and wife Peg Wilson of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; son-in-law, Art Turriff of Ellicott City, Maryland. Six loving granddaughters; Adrienne and husband Jeff McCracken of Washington, Indiana, Christina and husband Michael Micioni of Rockville, Maryland. Sarah and Amy Turriff of Maryland, Beth Wilson of Bloomfield and Leslie Wilson of Wisconsin. Two step-granddaughters Charoltte and Kristina of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Asister Pat and husband Lavon Yoho of Solsberry; sister-in-laws Reba Street of Bloomfield and Cornula Street of Indianapolis. Several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death; her beloved daughter Marsha; Mother and Father Homer and Nettie Street;Mother and Father-in-Law Alva and Hermie Wilson, two brothers, James and Charles Street; two sisters, Ruth Lucas and Kathryn English, two brother-in-laws, Harvey Lucas and Wayne English. Friends may call at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield from 4 to 8 P.M. on Monday October 1, 2007 and 10:00 A.M. till the hour at the Church on Tuesday. Services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday October 2, 2007 at the Bloomfield First Christian Church with Rev Billy Ed Hostettler and Rev Dave Wilde officiating. Burial will follow at Dishman Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Cancer Research Foundation or Hospice of Greene County.
