Lois Rosalie "Rose" Bays, of Bloomfield passed away Thursday June 6, 2024, at the age of 92. Rose, the daughter of Alva and Eva Hall, was born on July 17, 1931 and grew up in Greene County alongside her six sisters.

She married her beloved husband Denis in 1950 and together they raised two children, Randy and Teresa. Rose became a beautician, running the well-known "Rose's Beauty Shop" from inside their Bloomfield home. She made many friends over the years in her shop and it was always a place to chat and catch up. She believed in hard work and you could see the evidence of that work ethic in the way she managed both her home and her business.

In addition to her profession, Rose cultivated many hobbies and talents during her lifetime. She had an incredible green-thumb and her gardens yielded an array of vegetables for canning or sharing with family. She loved to spend time painting and many of those can be found today in the homes of loved ones. Rose's family most appreciated her talent for cooking and baking. Made from scratch noodles, mashed potatoes, sweet potato rolls, meatloaf, and pies were the center of many Sunday family meals, celebrations and holiday gatherings.

Rose's greatest joy was being surrounded by her family. She is survived by two children, daughter Teresa Myers (Mark) of Bloomfield and son Randy Bays (Karen) of Zionsville; five grandchildren, Christa Curtis (Todd), Justin Bays (Lesli), Brooke Pyne (Jared), Lindsay Skinner (Shane) and Jesika Musall (Jordan). She was also blessed with 12 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. Rose loved babies and she was able to meet two of her great-great grandchildren before her passing.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, and her loving husband Denis L. Bays.

Visitation and funeral service will be held on Tuesday June 11, 2024 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Visitation will begin at 11am, followed by the funeral at 1pm with Rev. Nathan Brooks officiating. Burial will follow at Scotland Cemetery.

The family wishes any memorial donations in Rose's name be given to the Scotland Cemetery or Alzheimer's Association.
