Obituary

Larry Gene Teegardin, 74, of Solsberry passed away Thursday July 31, 2025 at his home with family by his side.

Born February 24, 1951 in Garrett, Indiana the son of George W. and Evelyn Faye (Dove) Teegardin.

Larry was a very proud U.S. Navy veteran having served in Vietnam; he had worked in manufacturing before retiring. He was a former member of the Eagles Lodge in Garrett. Larry liked playing golf, bowling, going to the casino, sitting on the deck with Smoke and Munchkin, and he loved driving Blue his 1967 Volkswagen maxi taxi.

Larry loved life, making people smile, always trying to lesson the sadness and giving them reasons to smile. Even through his journey with cancer, due to his exposure to agent orange in Vietnam he tried to brighten his day by joking with his doctors, Larry simply loved life.

Surviving relatives include his companion of over twenty-six years, Georgene Losey, daughter, Melissa (Sean) Linvill of Auburn, son, David (Laura) Teegardin of Cromwell, also survived by Yohansen "Hank" (Miranda) Losey of Franklin, Jason (Katie) Losey of Fire Stone, Colorado who he considered his other sons; one brother, Jim (Deb) Teegardin of Kendallville, In; two sisters, Patricia Ann "Tish" Teegardin of Auburn, In; Carolyn Sue Ward of Iron Station, NC; eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren, one sister-in-law, Lesley Teegardin of Ladson, SC; and several nieces and nephews.

Larry was preceded in death by four brothers, Ned, Dave, Don and Keith Teegardin, two fur babies, Smoke, Munchkin and his parents.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday September 27, at Larry and Georgene's residence in Solsberry with Military Honors at 2:30 P.M.

The family ask that any memorial donations in Larry's name be given to Heal Pet Care in Bloomfield (36 N. Park Lane. Bloomfield, In. 47424)
