Kay Allen, 85, of Bloomfield, Indiana passed away Saturday September 5, 2026 at the Daisey House at Ketchem Memorial surrounded by family.

Born April 25, 1941 in Lyons, Indiana the daughter of John Luther Nichols and Flossie (Wright) Nichols.

Kay was the owner and broker of Homestead Reality for 29 years, she deeply loved her many nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in her heart. Music was an important part of her life, and she sang actively with several groups, including Triad. She was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church in Bloomfield, where she shared her love of music as choir director, she also loved her career in real estate and found great joy in helping people find the perfect place to call home.

Surviving relatives include her husband Steve Allen, married on July 18, 1981; her two daughters, Kara Barnard, Pam (Greg) Hays, her two grandchildren, Wyatt and Chelsea Hays, one sister, Barbara Southern and one brother, Gary Nichols.

Kay was preceded in death by her nine siblings, Madge Jordan, Patricia Edwards, Jo Hilterbrand, Miriam Rollison, Maxine Farris, Berniece Myers, Bob Nichols, Bill Nichols, Ruby Stafford and her parents.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 P.M. on Wednesday and 10 a.m. Thursday until the hour of service at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Indiana.

Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Indiana with Rev. Hana Elliott officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Chapel Cemetery.
