Kathryn J. (Bowers) Byers,90, of Bloomfield, passed away at 1:20 p.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at Glenburn Home.
Born March 20, 1921 in Vigo County, she was the daughter of Erma M. and Cenith (Craig) Bowers.
She was a homemaker and a beautician. She was a member of the Bloomfield First Baptist Church.
Surviving relatives include: one daughter, Sue Sparks (Ron) of Bloomfield; one son Richard D. Byers, Jr. (Patty) of Fairview, Oregon; grandchildren, Bradley D. Byers of Colorado, Brett D. Byers of Montana, Travis Sparks (Amy) of Seattle, Washington and Sawyer Sparks (Sammie) of Bloomfield; and her great-grandchildren, Aiden and Emerson Sparks of Seattle, Washington.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard D. Byers, Sr. on September 6, 1991, one daughter, Donna Marie Byers, one brother, Maurice D. Bowers and her parents.
Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Graveside services will be conducted 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Roselawn Memorial Park in Terre Haute.
Public visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and 1 hour prior to services Tuesday at the funeral home.
The family asks that all memorial contributions be made to Bloomfield First Baptist Church, Alzheimer's Association or the American Cancer Society.
