Judith E. Rivera, 79, of Linton passed away Monday July 6, 2026 at the Greene County General Hospital surrounded by her family.

Born September 29, 1946 in Parkin, Arkansas the daughter of Richard Willard Payton and Ruth Irene (Shelton) Meurer.

Judy, who was a Nursing Assistant, worked at Glenburn Home in Linton of many years. She attended the Switz City Christian Church and liked spending time at the Senior Center in Linton.

Surviving relatives include her children, Janet Rivera, Maryann Rivera, Shellie Peltier, Robin Kent, Kenny Alsman, Amy Alsman, her grandchildren, Becky, Eddie, Traci, Jeanette, Alex, Logan, Miranda, Racheal, Samantha, West, Lindsey, Nathan, Greg, Alexis, Nora, Aaron, Noah, Gabe, Payton and Jaxen. Judy is also survived by twenty-five great grandchildren as well as her three sisters, Sandra Warnick, Martha Jane Kaho (Jay) and Sharla Roberts (Ed).

Judith was preceded in death by her husband, Alejandro R. Rivera on December 10, 2014; one son, Alan Wesley Alsman and her parents.

The family would like to think the staff at Greene County General for their special care of their mother in her final hours of life.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on July 13, 2026 at 1:00 P.M. at the Lyons Community Center with Chris Gehring officiating. Burial will be at a later date at Boley Cemetery.
