Obituary

Joseph I. Achors, 82, of Bloomington formerly of Doans, passed away Monday October 31, 2005 at 10:40 p.m. at Bloomington Hospital.
Born June 13, 1923 in Doans, he was the son of James and Eliza (Mowery) Achors.
He was a Supervisor in electronic technicians for Sarkes Tarzian in Bloomington. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WW II. He was a member of Trinity Baptsit Church and the American Legion post 196 in Bloomfield.
Survivors include: three sons, Davie Joe of St. Louis, Missouri, James of Bloomfield, and Jeff of Bloomington; two daughters, Charlotte Kroening of Hope and Brenda Strange of Bloomfield; two step daughters, Kathy Parham and Sharon Nieto both of Midland, Texas; three brothers, John of Martinsville, Luther of Shelbyville, and James of eaton rapids, Michigan; three sisters, Hildred Gahimer of Franklin, Cora Cutsinger of Edinburgh, and Emma White of Linton; Several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Iris June (Terrell) Achors in 1999, two brothers, Noah and Charles, and an infant sister Mary.
Funeral services will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home Bloomfield, Indiana with Rev. James Swaby officiating. Burial will be in Kentucky Ridge Cemetery in Rural Bloomfield. American Legion post 196 in Bloomfield will conduct military honors.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 1 hour prior to services on Friday at the Funeral Home.
