John Virgil Hudson

John Virgil Hudson, 76, of Solsberry, passed away on Friday, July 24, 2026 at Richland Bean Blossom in Ellettsville.

Born September 10, 1949 in Bloomington, he was the son of Bernard Dwight and Mary Margaret (Dick) Hudson.

John was the Owner and Operator of Hudson Concrete Products, Inc. and Hudson Sales & Service. He was a member of the Solsberry Christian Church.

Surviving relatives include: his wife, Freeda B. (Helms) Hudson whom he married November 10, 1967; his children, Lora Beth Watson (Dean), Julie Ann Ringley (Chad), Rebecca Lynn Helton (Brice) and Mallory Nicole Padgett (Will); fourteen grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren; two sisters, Charlene Hardisty and Michelle Aliano (Vincent); a sister-in-law, Jean Hudson; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Terry Hudson, a brother-in-law, Dennis Hardisty and his parents.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 29, 2026 at the Solsberry Christian Church, with Jim Weimer officiating. Interment will follow in Solsberry cemetery.

Public visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday and from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Solsberry Christian Church.

The family asks that all memorial contributions be made to the Solsberry Christian Church. He also enjoyed sharing his music, playing guitars and mandolin, with several local musicians.
