John W. Bovenschen 81, of Lyons, passed away at 5:15 a.m. Saturday, April 17, 2010 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes.
Born December 21, 1928 in Switz City, he was the son of Clarence and Martha (Hart) Bovenschen.
He worked for Olinger Construction and was a member of the Marco United Methodist Church.
Surviving relatives include: two sons, Perry R. Bovenschen and Tim J. (Julie) Bovenschen both of Lyons; three sisters, Lola Faye (Francis) Dayhoff of Worthington, Jane (Cletus) Bough of Lyons and Iva Spurlin of Dugger; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary E. (Brown) Bovenschen November 30, 1994 and his parents.
Graveside services will be conducted 1:30 p.m. Monday, April 19, 2010 at Marco cemetery, with Rev. Don Reed officiating.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Lyons.
The family prefers that memorial contributions be made to the Greene County Humane Society in lieu of flowers.
