Joe Ledgerwood, 84, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana passed away at 1:20 P.M. on Thursday May 22, 2008 at his residence.
Born December 20, 1923 in Bloomington, Indiana he was the son of John W. & Sarah Grace (Arnett) Ledgerwood.
He worked for Farm Bureau Insurance as a Claims Supervisor. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge & American Legion both in Solsberry. He was a member of the Scottish Rite 32nd Degree in Indianapolis. He was a 1941 graduate of Solsberry High School. He was a WWII veteran of the Army Air Corp., and a Korean War Vet of the Air Force.
Surviving relatives include his wife Mary Nell (VanMeter) Ledgerwood of Floyds Knobs, Indiana. 1 son Mark Ledgerwood and his wife Helen of Floyds Knobs, Indiana. 1 daughter Marsha Wells and her husband Bruce of Stuart, Florida. 5 grandchildren Joel Wells, Jon Ledgerwood, Nathan Wells, Kari Ann Ledgerwood, & David Wells. 1 Sister Rachelee Faughman of Madison, Connecticut.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, 1 son Stephen H. Ledgerwood, 1 brother John A. Ledgerwood.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 P.M. on Sunday May 25, 2008 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield. There will be a Masonic service at 3 P.M. on Sunday at the Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be at 4:00 P.M. on Sunday May 25, 2008 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloofield with Rev. Glen Stidd officiating. Burial will follow at Scotland Cemetery in Scotland, Indiana. There will be a Military Graveside service at the cemetery.
The family wishes all donations be made to Hospice or American Cancer Society.
