Jewell Dengal (Woods) Heaton, 80, of Bloomfield, passed away at 9:20 a.m. on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at Monroe Hospital in Bloomington.

Born November 12, 1935 in Belmont, Indiana, she was the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Fleetwood) Woods.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Bloomfield United Methodist Church.

Surviving relatives include: her children, Cinda (Tom) Thomas of Switz City, Wallace Joseph Heaton of Bloomfield, Marilyn (Chris) Curry of Solsberry and Morgan (Jennifer) Heaton of Bloomfield; her grandchildren, Chelsea (Matt) Wilson of Hammond, Louisiana, Kenton Thomas of Danville, Adam Curry and Owen Curry both of Solsberry, Rex Joseph Heaton and Paul Heaton both of Bloomfield; two brothers, Thomas Julian Woods and Joseph Glenn (Buster) Woods; three sisters, Verlis Hayford, Pauline Bond and Margie Terrell; and her cat, Splate.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Heaton in 1981 and a brother, Ancel Woods

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at the Bloomfield United Methodist Church, with Rev. Bill Talbott, Rev. Matt Whitaker and Rev. Erin Raper officiating. Interment will follow in Grandview cemetery in Bloomfield.

Public visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday and 1 hour prior to services on Saturday at the Bloomfield United Methodist Church, 60 West Main Street in Bloomfield.Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
