Jessie Kay Dixon, 87, of Bloomfield passed away Wednesday February 26, 2025 at Hearthstone Health Campus in Bloomington.
Born April 30, 1937 in Greene County, Indiana the daughter of William Archie Watkins and Hettie Elizabeth (Arthur) Watkins.
Jessie was retired from Crane as a secretary; she was a member of the Owensburg Baptist Church and had attended the Newark Baptist Church. Jessie liked playing the piano, sewing, she loved to write and tell family stories, she enjoyed fishing and family was very important to her.
Surviving relatives include her daughter, Loretta Gray, one step-son, Frank R. (Jackie) Dixon, Jr; ten grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, one sister Juanita Atkins, one great great granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.
Jessie was preceded in death by her husband Frank R. Dixon Sr, on March 30, 2004; one son, Steve Brinegar, one daughter, Elizabeth Hardtke, one grandson, Jason Hardtke, three sisters, Mary Ruth Ellis, Gladys Sparks, Virginia Davis, one brother, Ed Watkins and her parents.
Visitation will be held from 11:30 A.M. until the hour of service on Monday March 3, 2025 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Monday March 3, 2025 at Jenkins Funeral Home with Rev. Jay Collins officiating. Burial will follow at Newark Cemetery.
The family ask any memorial donations in Jessie's name be given to the Greene County Humane Society.
