Obituary

Janice K. (Tribby) Quimby, age 86, passed away at her home in Bloomington, IN on Tuesday, December 16, 2025. She was born in Bloomington, IN on December 24, 1938, married her husband, Marvin Quimby, in May of 1956, and graduated from Bloomington High School in 1957. For most of her adult life, she lived in Bloomfield, IN with her husband as a dairyman's wife and where they raised their family.

Retired from Eastern School District of Greene County after 38 years of service as a cook and teaching assistant, she was a member of the Cabin Fever Quilters Guild and a long-time member of the Cincinnati Christian Church where she sang in the choir and helped with children's programs. She enjoyed doing various home craft projects including baking and decorating birthday, anniversary, wedding, graduation, etc., cakes for the local community.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, Marvin Dean Quimby, parents Ruby (McDaniel) and Jesse Tribby, father-in-law Direlle Quimby and mother-in-law Grace Quimby, sisters Wanda Gifford and Mavis Long, brothers-in-law Marvin Long, John Gifford, Randall Quimby, Melvin Quimby, sisters-in-law Dorothy Quimby and Linda Quimby, nieces Sue Ruckersfelt, Carol Leonard and nephew Rick Long.

Survivors include daughters Karen (Ron) Taylor, Beth (George) Thompson, grand-children Scott Taylor, Maria (Jordan) Pearce, Allyson Thompson, great-grandson Kaelen Pearce, sister-in-law Beverly Quimby, brother-in-law Harrel Quimby, several nieces and nephews and for over 7 years, her best friend and Private Nurse, Paula Berry, and companion cat, Sophie.

Visitation will be held on Sunday December 21, 2025 at the Cincinnati Christian Church from 3 to 8 P.M. and 10 A.M. Monday until the hour of service at the Church.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. at the Cincinnati Christian Church with Rev. Troy Borst officiating. Burial will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery, Bloomfield, IN.
