Janice Rose (Ramsey) Ray, 81, of Bloomfield, passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2026 at her home with family by her side.

Born April 29, 1945 in Daviess County to Ralph and Dorothy (Worrell) Ramsey. She married Lonnie Ray on May 29, 1969.

She worked at RCA when she met Lonnie, then afterwards dedicated her life to raising her family. She enjoyed babysitting and caring for many children over the years. She enjoyed planting and tending to her flowers and all the adventures with her close friends. Janice was known to many as "Granny Jan" always willing to welcome everyone and treat them all as family.

Surviving relatives include: her children, Tony (Dorree) Ray, Tammy Ray, Tracey (Thomas) Burks; her grandchildren, Brandon (Amber) Rollins, Courtney Lewis, Makenzie (Jay) Brinegar, Brooke (Gabe Paisner) Sternik, Joey Sternik, Paige (Jared Shuster) Ray, Brady Burks and Gage Ray; her great grandchildren, Makaia and Zaylen Magruder, Brealeigh and Bentley Rollins, Eli Thomas, Oakleigh, Everlee and Finley Sternik; one brother, David (Renee) Ramsey; sister-in-law, Nancy Ramsey; her nephews, Scott and Abe Ramsey and Shawn Ray; nieces, Susan (Craig) Wittmer, Shannon (Bobby) Young and Lisa (John) Saunders; and several great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Ray on November 22, 2017, her parents and in-laws, Frank and Gladys Ray, brother, Larry Ramsey, brother-in-law, Marcus Ray and nephew, Brent Ray.

Public visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, May 4, 2026 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield. There will be no funeral services.
