Obituary

James Blair "J.B." Warrick passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville.

Born December 5, 1947, in Terre Haute, Indiana, the son of James Paul Warrick and Margaret (Blair) Warrick.

J.B. served his country in the Army National Guard for twenty-one years and retired in 2000 as a Sergeant First Class. He was a faithful member of the Mineral Methodist Church, Classic Cruisers Car Club, and the Indiana DeMolay, where he held the office of Master Councilor. J.B. graduated from Vincennes University and Oakland City College with a degree in Education. He taught for one year and then found a passion for working with children and aging adults for the Greene County Department of Child Services. Upon retirement, he continued to serve others as a caregiver in adult group homes.

J.B. was known for his contagious smile and servant's heart. He enjoyed collecting license plates, riding his golf cart, bringing his family together for dinners, taking care of his lawn, attending countless volleyball games, and traveling with his family to the beach.

Surviving relatives include his two daughters, Jennifer (Jason) Barrett and Whitney (Wayne) Grant; his grandchildren, Aubrie Lee, Aiden Lee, Jack Brooks Barrett, Layla Grant, Logan Grant, Allie Meadors, and Max Grant; his siblings, Tim (Joan) Warrick, Paula (Jerome) Stillions, and Brent (LuAnn) Warrick; and several beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

J.B. was preceded in death by his wife, Sheri Warrick, on October 21, 2022, and his parents.
