James Francis Kingsley Sr., 81, of Bloomfield passed away at 12:59 P.M. on Friday November 9, 2007 at Bloomington Hospital.
Born in Covington Kentucky December 1, 1925 he was the son of Daniel Richard & Alberta (Ripberger) Kingsley.
He grew up in Covington attending St. Mary's Catholic Church and Schools. He served our country during WWII in the Navy in both the Pacific and Atlanic aboard the USS Bunch and USS Wrangell, retiring after 22 years in 1963. He worked at Indiana Limestone Company from 1963 to 1992 and retired as the Personnel Manager.
He served the citizens of Greene County as a reserve deputy for 27 years. He was a C Scout leader and a Little League Coach in Bloomfield. He was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Youth Choir, VFW Post 6948 and American Legion Post 0777 both in Indianapolis. He attended the Bloomfield first Baptist Church regulary.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years Eleanor (Haywood) Kingsley of Bloomfield. 3 Sons: James Francis Kingsley Jr. & wife Connie of Summerville, SC. John Harold Kingsley & wife Gaylene of Big Pine Key, FL. Daniel Richard Kingsley III of Charleston, SC. 3 Daughters: Jewel Marlaine Carmichael & husband James of Bloomfield, IN. Jaquline Lee Kingsley of Paducah, KY. Judith Lynn McDaniel & husband Walter of Mount Pleasant, SC. Grandchildren: James Francis Kingsley III & wife Jennifer, Andrea Milligan & husband David, Jay Kingsley & wife Amber, Cory Rash & wife Jennifer, Ashley Carmichael, Jacob Carmichael, Rhonda Zitnick, & Jennifer Welker. Great Grandchildren: JJ, Olivia, & Veronica Kingsley, Ashley Dugger, Nicholas, Mary Jackson, & Emily Milligan, Isabella, Kaylee, & Devon Kingsley, Noah, & Payton Rash, Shane & Zacory Zitnick, Becca Dawn Fitzgerald. 1 Sister Joan Hardorn of Kentucky. He was also the American Parent of a German foreign exchange student Arne Utermack. Several Beloved Nieces & Nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers Daniel Richard Kingsley and John Harold Burkhart.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 P.M. Tuesday November 13, 2007 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield and 12 Noon till the hour at the Church.
Services will be at 1:30 P.M. on Wednesday November 14, 2007 at the Bloomfield First Baptist church in Bloomfield (500 Lincoln Drive) with Rev. Brent Meyer officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Nebo Cemetery in Newberry.
