James Ray Johnson, age 85, of Bloomfield passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 9, 2023.

Jim was born on July 13, 1937 to Freemont Johnson and Alta (Huffman) Johnson. He worked for the CSX Railroad for over 30 years and was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Murat Shriners, and the White River Valley Antique Association.

Jim loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter. He enjoyed telling stories of his hunting adventures with his dogs in squirrel, rabbit, bird, and most of all coon hunting. Jim also loved to fish. He owned and operated a Christmas tree farm for many years. He also enjoyed working in the garden and sharing his produce with others.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Anna Marie Johnson, Alice Johnson, Georgia Haines, Clifford Casey Johnson, Bill Johnson, Bob Johnson, Jack Johnson, and Sue Brown.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at the Antioch Christian Church cemetery in rural Bloomfield. Jenkins Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
